Police investigating shooting near Indio park

Police are investigating a shooting near a park in Indio Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened near Yucca Park, on the intersection of Yucca St. and Adobe Rd at a little past 4:00 pm. At least one suspect left the scene in an unknown vehicle.

Indio police confirmed that at this time it appears no one was injured, a parked red truck was hit.

Officers are working on gathering a concrete description of the suspect and the vehicle they left the scene in.

This is the second shooting in Indio in the past two days, Monday evening there was a shooting in the area of Daisy St and Garden Ave. No one was injured in that shooting.

Indio Police Sgt. Dan Marshall said it’s too early to connect the two shootings.

Roads in the area are back open after being blocked for the investigation.
