Well in the Desert serves up Thanksgiving meals

For the 20th year in a row, Well in the Desert served hundreds of hot meals in Palm Springs on Thanksgiving.

The meals were handed out at Our Lady of Solitude, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

“Feels good, eating here with my brother. Just being here and meeting new people and just having fun,” said Garold Zaragoza.

“The amount of gratitude really is amazing. Because these people would not have something to eat, they wouldn’t have this special meal so they’re very grateful, and that makes all of us feel really good,” said Arlene Rosenthal, president of Well in the Desert.

The organization cooked twenty turkeys and all the side dishes for the community, a job that volunteers are happy to do.

“We’re working very hard to feed the homeless and anyone who is in need of food and some people don’t have families,” said Aaron Davis-Heber, a volunteer.

Organizers said more than 300 dinners were served Thursday.
