Palm Springs International Film FestivalAward Gala
The stars are out Tuesday night for the 29th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala.
The red carpet event kicks off at 5 p.m., at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Some of Hollywood’s brightest stars will be honored for their work in recent films.

Gal Gadot will be honored with the Rising Star Award – Actress for her performance in Wonder Woman. Gary Oldman will be presented with the Desert Palm Achievement Award – actor for his performance as Winston Chuchill in the film Darkest Hour. Willem Dafoe is set to receive the Icon Award for his performance in The Florida Project. Plenty of notable names will also attend the Awards Gala, hosted by Mary Hart.

Opening night of the film festival begins with the screening of The Post on Thursday.
The festival will screen 180 films from 77 countries, including 39 premieres (four World, 12 North American and 23 U.S.) through Jan. 15.
