Record Warmth Could Continue…

Palm Springs set a temperature record yesterday at 86 degrees. The factors that created that warm day are still in effect as we head into Wednesday. High pressure dominates the Southwest as low pressure is confined to the Pacific Northwest. Today’s high will be close to 84 degrees. 84 is the record for January 3rd set back in 1969.

A low pressure system spinning to our south will give us high cloud coverage for the rest of the week.

Cooling begins on Saturday as the ridge of high pressure eventually weakens giving way to low pressure. Temperatures will cool about 5 degrees as onshore flow increases. Near the middle portion of next week a moderate rain event is expected in Southern California…….eventually.

For now enjoy the warm conditions! Our 86 degrees on Tuesday, January 2nd was the warmest high temperature for any large city in the country.
