Wounded veteran gets red carpet treatment at Palm Springs International Film Festival

Hollywood’s biggest stars weren’t the only ones that hit the red carpet of the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala Tuesday night. One veteran and his fiance got a once in a lifetime chance to be part of the fun.

First Sergeant Chris Rosebery, his fiance Kelly, and his dog Gabby came out all the way from Maine to walk the red carpet of the film festival.

After going through one amputation, Chris re-enlisted and served two tours in Afghanistan with his prosthetic leg, before being injured again in a firefight.

Roseberry’s red carpet trip to the desert was made possible by the founders of “Dogs for our Brave,” an organization that provides guide dogs free of charge for veterans.

“It’s one of those things that you always want to go out and go do at least once. So for Andy to invite us to go out there and mingle with everyone, I think it’s going to be a really good time. Plus Gabby gets to go out and meet a lot of people as well, I think it will be a lot of fun,” Roseberry said.

Roseberry, Kelly, and Gabby walked the red carpet along with founders of the organization.
