Temperatures in the 80s bring visitors to the Coachella Valley for the holidays

While other parts of the country are dealing with gruesome weather conditions from a winter storm, the Coachella Valley saw comfortable conditions this Christmas weekend and today.

Temperatures in the 80s over the weekend made the Coachella Valley one of the best places to be.

Steve Wise, who was hiking at Palm Desert's Bump and Grind Trail says, "The weather is perfect. I'm from New York so I know what miserable weather is like so this is perfect for me."

Some people like David Waghelstein are visiting from Maryland. He's dodging the winter storm while taking in the views at the Living Desert Zoo with his family.

“So it was eight degrees yesterday in Annapolis and it was 80 degrees in Palm Springs. I would say we made the right choice," says Waghelstein.

One family waiting to check out the snow at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway was visiting all the way from South Korea.

“It’s freezing cold there and it's been a lot of snow as well this year, but it's like here it feels like summer," says Yum Kim.

With Artic like numbers throughout the country, it's safe to say this weekend's forecast made a great gift.
