Fire east of Perris burns 338 acres, 50% contained, all evacuations and road closures lifted

All evacuations and road closures have been lifted, Cal Fire announced.

The fire remains at 338 acres with 50% containment.

The fire remains at 338 acres and is 50% contained. Road closures in the area and evacuation warnings are still in place.

The fire remains 338 acres and 50% contained. Road closures in the area and evacuation warnings remain the same.

Road closures:

  • Idaleona Road between Panamint Lane and Gavilan Road.
  • Gavilan Road between Multiview and Pinon Drive.

Original story:

The Gavilan fire just east of Perris has burned 250 acres with 25% containment.

Cal Fire said crews have stopped the forward spread. The first was reported Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on Gavilan Road in unincorporated Perris.

All evacuation orders have been downgraded to a warning.

Cal Fire said a firefighter in this was hurt and taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
