Sunnier skies today as drying trend kicks off
Thanks to an increase in our upper level winds, it will be a little gustier today in the valley. Gusts will gradually pick up throughout the afternoon, but will likely peak around the sunset hour. Winds will stay gusty overnight as well.
As a result of the drying trend we are in the middle of, there is noticeably less moisture and clouds outside today. While this gives us clear and sunny weather, it also allows for temperatures to rise slightly. Thus, leading to a slightly warmer afternoon that we experienced yesterday.
Here, you can see the bulk of the dry air moving into Southern California. We will continue to dry out throughout the evening and into tomorrow. Tomorrow will see even clearer skies than today. Monsoonal storms will stay well off to our east.
The next seven days will remain nice and mild, especially for this time of year. As we inch closer to the start of fall, we will see our average daily high temperatures continue to drop every few days. The average temperature for today is 103°F. Enjoy the nice weather this week has to offer!
