Suspect arrested after armed carjacking in the Citrus area of La Quinta
A suspect accused in an armed carjacking Tuesday in La Quinta was later found and arrested in Thermal, authorities said.
The crime was initially reported at around 3:10 p.m. around the area of the Citrus Country Club near Jefferson Street.
"Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the victim’s vehicle was taken at gunpoint," writes Sergeant Deirdre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff's Dept.
Deputies obtained the vehicle’s description and searched the area. The vehicle was later located in the area of Ruben and 62nd Street in Thermal. The suspect was also found in the area and taken into custody.
The investigation remains ongoing. Additional details were not available.
