A new campaign by Palm Springs Section 14 Survivors and descendants aims to educate tourists

Palm Springs Section 14 Survivors, descendants and advocates are promoting their new campaign “Know Before You Go Palm Springs.”

The campaign aims to educate tourists about Section 14 and the present-day impacts of the historical event that led to the displacement of survivors.

According to Visit Greater Palm Springs, over 14 million tourists visited the valley in 2022, which contributed over $8 billion to the local economy. 

The goal of the “Know Before You Go Palm Springs” campaign is to engage tourists in the group’s effort to receive reparative justice from the City of Palm Springs. 

Visitors of the campaign’s official website are also encouraged to sign a petition to push the City of Palm Springs to provide reparations to survivors and their families.
