Santa Ana Breezes Pick Up Ahead of a Sunny & Perfect Pride Desert Weekend

It’s shaping up to be a very comfortable evening for VillageFest in Palm Springs. Temperatures will cool fairly quickly after sunset, so grab a sweater if you’re heading downtown.

The Coachella Valley warms into the mid-80s this weekend, with mostly sunny skies and dry weather--PERFECT for Palm Springs Pride Weekend!

Santa Ana winds will be strongest Friday through Saturday afternoon. Expect some breezes on the valley floor, but the strongest gusts, up to 40–45mph-- in wind-prone mountain passes, aren't anything too crazy for us. Winds ease Sunday afternoon, which looks like the warmest part of the weekend.

Temperatures start to dip just slightly Monday and Tuesday, though we’ll stay dry and mild through the middle of the week. A bigger cooldown is possible Thursday into Friday as another system moves into the PNW and rain chances start to climb. Forecast models still up in the air on how much moisture that system could bring, so it’s still a bit early to pin down rainfall totals for the valley.
