Firebirds have unfinished business heading into second AHL season
The Firebirds start their second season this week.
This comes after an incredible inaugural season which ended in a Game 7 overtime loss to the Hershey Bears in the Calder Cup Finals.
There's unfinished business for the Firebirds this season. 🔥🦅🏒🏆🗣️

Sports Director Blake Arthur visited practice Wednesday to catch up with the team ahead of the 2023-2024 season.
Something about the power going out at @AcrisureArena! Lights went out during my chat with @Firebirds coach Dan Bylsma. Posting it anyway.

"Expectations." Big storyline going into 2nd season after reaching the Calder Cup Finals in year one.@KESQ @Qassignmentdesk @BaileyKESQ pic.twitter.com/F2ev7Gc3jO
KEY RETURNERS
- F Shane Wright
- F Kole Lind
- F Cameron Hughes
- F John Hayden
- F Andrew Poturalski
- F Max McCormick
KEY DEPARTURES
- G Joey Daccord - NHL Seattle Kraken
- F Tye Kartye - NHL Seattle Kraken
The @Firebirds have a lot of returners, which means a lot of talent, but they'll be without 2 stars in @TheAHL ROY Tye Kartye & fan-favorite goalie Joey Daccord. Both are with @SeattleKraken, leaving big voids for Bylsma's Birds, who will have to find production elsewhere. @KESQ pic.twitter.com/0fAANTsMk7
