Cathedral City is moving into the next steps of the new Dog Park and pickleball courts

The Cathedral City Council voted 4-0 on Wednesday to approve a $413,376 agreement with David Volz Design for plans, specifications, and environmental documents for the park.

The park will be located at the site of the former Second Street Park on Buddy Rogers Avenue, next to Fire Station 411. The park will include fenced areas for small and large dogs with shading, benches, drinking fountains with pet bowls, a walking path, and four pickleball courts.

The overall estimated cost for the project is just over $2.4 million. The city is working on grants to cover the cost.

At 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. on KESQ News channel 3, we will walk around the dog park location with Mayor Rita Lamb and talk about expectations and impacts.
