Kenji Ito
Kenji Ito is a Sports Anchor/Producer/Reporter for KESQ News Channel 3.
He joined the Desert’s News Leader in January 2024. You can catch his reports during
the week and sportscasts on the weekends at 6, 6:30, 10 and 11 PM.
Kenji earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
During his time at Arizona State, Kenji hosted radio sports shows at BlazeRadio, wrote for AZPREPS365, reported and anchored for Inferno Intel and Cronkite News. In the summer of ’23, Kenji covered unique local Southern California sports and special interest stories for broadcast in the Arizona Market for Varsity Sports Show.
Kenji has covered a variety of sports, including high school and collegiate athletics for the ASU Sun Devils.
His passion is to tell the stories that need to be told and others that do not shine in the spotlight.
Born and raised in Costa Mesa, California, Kenji is excited to start his career in his home state and in a very special Coachella community.
In his free time, Kenji enjoys going to the gym, shooting hoops, and spending time with friends and family.
