Preparations underway for Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival this weekend
Preparations were underway today ahead of the 76th annual Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival kicking off this weekend.
Visitors can expect a variety of rides, vendors, curiosities and food, including date tastings and date beer and whiskey. Changes this year include moving the kid's carnival closer to the entrance of the fair on Highway 111, as well as more rides at the main carnival.
This weekend will also see a variety of acts performing.
"On Friday we have Smash Mouth in the arena, on Saturday we have Natasha Bedingfield, on Sunday we have Voz de Mando, and on Monday we have Diamond Rio. On Tuesday we're gonna be clearing the stage out of the arena and preparing it for our Wednesday and Thursday monster truck shows," said Chris Pickering, CEO of Pickering Events, which manages the fair.
