Strengthening wind to start the week

A Wind Advisory will go into effect this evening at 10 PM. The advisory does not include the Coachella Valley but does extend into Desert Hot Springs, North Palm Springs, and the San Gorgonio Pass. Our local mountain communities are included as well. Winds out of the west may reach 20-30 MPH with gusts over 50 MPH possible. Take caution if driving through these areas.

Upper-level moisture is being funneled over southern California. As a result, a blanket of clouds high up in the atmosphere remains overhead. Sunnier skies will join us for the rest of the week.

It may be breezy at times here in the valley. Especially in the more wind-prone areas. While the strongest winds will be felt to the west, some gusts exceeding 20 or 25 MPH cannot be ruled out.

Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s this week. Temperatures begin to cool slightly heading into the weekend as another system will impact California and may bring some showers on Saturday.
