Palm Springs hosts Veterans Drive-Thru Appreciation Lunch

Ahead of Veterans Day, the city of Palm Springs hosted it's annual Veterans Drive-Thru Appreciation Lunch at Palm Springs City Hall, Friday, November 8. Free box lunches were distributed to veterans.

Veterans were greeted by supporters, a live band and an array of red, white and blue.

Those who have given years of service to our community, now the community is serving them back.

Our local heroes could not be more appreciative.

“It’s an honor because Vietnam vets, when we came back, we didn’t get parades, we didn’t get parties.”

Edward G. Johnson, Desert Hot Springs Veteran

“For me, the importance is never forgetting. My involvement with veterans is my way of remembering.”

Jim Rothblatt, Palm Springs Veteran

This is part of a free four-day celebration.
