Car wash fundraiser Thursday and Friday to benefit Palm Springs police and firefighters
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) - A popular Palm Springs car wash is about to hold a two-day fundraiser to support public safety organizations.
Desert Hand Car Wash on South Palm Canyon is raising money for the Palm Springs Police and Firefighters Associations.
The business is encouraging people to get their car washed there on Thursday, October 23rd and Friday, October 24th from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Local police and firefighters will also be involved with drying the cars.
Desert Hand Car Wash owner Bob Smiland says it's important to support our first responders, adding, "I'm so grateful to live and work here. I feel good every day and in this crazy world that feels great. I'm just grateful, and I think all businesses should do all they can to give back."
News Channel 3's Peter Daut spoke with Smiland to learn more about the fundraiser.
The event will feature live music and food provided by Lulu California Bistro from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tickets for the entertainment and food are $50.
