Tracking very mild weather this week in the valley

Good evening, it's a gorgeous start to the week here in Southern California! Highs locally are fairly close to the seasonal average, if not slightly above. Regionally, we are tracking some offshore/Santa Ana winds. These winds are relatively mild for most areas. The main exception is for mountain passes. Thus, expect some breezy conditions through parts of the San Gorgonio Pass this evening. The offshore gradient will weaken later tonight, and a return to onshore flow will take place tomorrow.

Looking ahead, we see some intensely warm colors over the western U.S. That includes us here in the Coachella Valley. This tells us that in 6-10 days from now, we are likely to be tracking high temperatures above the seasonal average, which is exactly what we see on our 7-day forecast.

Temperatures will gradually fall through Thursday. Highs will be in the low 70s for that day. A warming trend moves in beginning Friday and continuing through the weekend, and even into next week. Highs will reach the upper 70s, and potentially the low 80s, for late this weekend and next week. Overall, our weather pattern is quite benign.
