Tracking cool weather ahead of a warming trend

It's a cool and very mild Thursday here in the Coachella Valley. High temperatures are in the low 70s today. There are still some lingering offshore winds through the end of the week. However, they are overall quite light. Starting tomorrow, high pressure will begin to move into the region. This will bring a prolonged warming trend to the Coachella Valley.

Let's take a look at the extended-term forecast. The temperature outlook shows us the likelihood of seeing temperatures above or below the seasonal average. The dark red colors over the area indicate that high temperatures will be well above the seasonal average next week (6-10 days from now).

As mentioned before, highs will be on the up and up starting tomorrow (Friday). Highs will climb to be at least 10-15 degrees above average by the middle of next week.
