College of the Desert Foster Youth Center collecting donations for comfort bags
PALM DESERT, Calif. (KESQ) - The Foster Youth Center at College of the Desert’s Palm Desert Campus has launched a donation drive to create comfort bags for foster youth in PSUSD, CVUSD, and DSUSD. Initially planned as a holiday effort, the drive has now become an ongoing project to meet the needs of the 112 foster high school students identified across the three districts.
Many foster youth enter care with only a few belongings—often carried in trash bags, a painful reminder of instability. The Center hopes to replace those with sturdy comfort bags filled with hygiene items, socks, blankets, coloring books, and other personal essentials that provide dignity and support.
Donations can be dropped off at the College of the Desert Foster Youth Center (Palm Desert Campus) during regular hours.
