Rancho Mirage approves Ritz-Carlton adjacent development despite resident concerns

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (KESQ) - The Rancho Mirage City Council has voted to approve a major new residential development adjacent to the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, even as some local residents voiced strong concerns about the project’s impacts.

The plan calls for the construction of 106 Ritz-Carlton branded residences along with event space, amenities and underground parking structure. The proposal also includes a General Plan amendment and modifications to the existing development agreement.

However, some residents in the area urged caution, raising concerns about traffic congestion, environmental effects and changes to the community’s character.

Council approval means the project can now move forward toward permitting and construction phases.
