Mild and dry through Tuesday, wetter to welcome the new year

Spencer Blum

Good evening. It's a great start to the final few days of 2025. Temperatures are close to the seasonal norm today, with clear skies, mild winds, and dry conditions. It's important to note that winds locally are mild. We have a broad offshore wind setup across the region. This is bringing elevated breezy to gusty conditions to areas just outside the Coachella Valley, like the San Gorgonio Pass and the Inland Empire. A Wind Advisory is in place for these areas through 1:00 PM tomorrow. Keep this in mind if you plan to be driving through these areas.

As we look ahead to the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026, we are tracking some wet weather. We will notice some increased cloud cover throughout the day tomorrow (Tuesday). More moisture will push into the area on Wednesday, with rain chances increasing throughout the day. Rain chances continue into the following morning (January 1st). Rainfall accumulation will remain on the lower side, with less than a quarter of an inch expected for the Coachella Valley.

Expect comfortable temperatures and increasingly cloudy skies for the remainder of the year. Both Wednesday and Thursday will have a chance for showers locally. Rain chances diminish by Thursday evening. It will stay at least partly cloudy for the first few days of the year.
