Tracking rising temperatures and dry weather

Spencer Blum

It is shaping up to be a fantastic week here locally. Today is already several degrees warmer than yesterday. Temperatures are gradually warming over the next few days, approaching a peak in the lower 80s. This would have us about ten degrees above the seasonal average. The winds have subsided and are calm here on the valley floor. It will remain dry and sunny for the foreseeable future.

The warming trend comes as a result of a ridge of high pressure building over the western US. This will dominate the weather pattern for much of the week, giving us warm and dry weather. Even though the winds have mostly subsided, the offshore pattern will remain in place.

Our weather will be fairly benign over the next week. Temperatures will gradually warm over the coming days, before stabilizing in the upper 70s/lower 80s. Expect cool nights and sunny skies for the next week.
