Thermal community raises concerns over approved Thermal Ranch development

THERMAL, Calif. (KESQ) — A group of Coachella Valley residents has filed a lawsuit against Riverside County over approval of the Thermal Ranch development — a massive 619-acre development centered around a 231-acre luxury equestrian center, citing serious concerns about inadequate infrastructure and community impact.

The lawsuit, filed on January 16, alleges that county violated environmental laws by failing to require feasible mitigation measures for air quality, manure and other public health concerns.

Riverside County supervisors approved the Thermal Ranch project in December.
