Warm, mild weather dominates the West, Arctic air dominates the east
It is another warm, sunny, and gorgeous day here in the Coachella Valley. High pressure continues to build over the region. This is bringing us those clear skies, calm winds, warm temperatures, and dry weather. This pattern will remain in place for quite some time and will dominate our weather pattern for the foreseeable future. Temperatures for pretty much the entire western part of the nation remain on the warmer and mild side, relatively anyway.

If you needed even more proof that the Coachella Valley is enjoying some of the best weather in the nation, another strong winter system is on the move. It is in the midst of making its way through the south and out to the Atlantic Ocean. Once there, it will move up the coast and bring more cold weather and potential precipitation to parts of the Northeast. This system is bringing another blast of arctic air to the Southern U.S. This weekend, part of Florida may see temperatures more than 10° below freezing. Even year-round warm cities like Miami could see nighttime lows in the 30s! This is an exceptionally cold system!

Back here at home, we should expect daytime highs in the low 80s and overnight lows in the low 50s. A few clouds will join the picture to start next week, but the pattern is overall warm and mild.
