Cooler & Cloudier through Friday Before Weekend Warming
A cloudier, slightly cooler day across the Coachella Valley this Thursday afternoon. Weak Santa Ana winds will continue to ease this afternoon and evening, with some high clouds overhead as low pressure moves northeast.
The Wind Advisory for Desert Hot Springs, Riverside and San Bernadino county Mountains and the San Gorgonio Pass was allowed to expire at noon earlier today.
Temperatures will cool noticeably briefly on Friday, with highs dipping into the upper 70s. The valley is expected to remain dry, but there's is a very slight chance of light precipitation confined to the High Desert and San Bernadino mountains. Very unlikely if we see anything over 0.10".
Drier weather returns for the weekend, along with a slight warming trend that brings highs back into the lower to mid 80s, with weak offshore winds kicking up gusts through area passes.
Sunday and Monday temperatures will run well above average before a more dramatic cooling again early next week.
A bigger pattern change next week brings cooler conditions and a slight chance of scattered showers, though timing and impacts remain uncertain. Right now chances remain pretty minor. That cooling will be noticeable element but only brings us down to seasonal in the low to mid 70s.
