Clients demand answers after immigration attorney loses license

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (KESQ) — Dozens of clients of Rancho Mirage immigration attorney Joe Luna are demanding answers, saying they paid thousands of dollars for legal representation but are now struggling to get their money and/or important documents back.

Luna is currently not eligible to practice law in California, according to the State Bar of California.

Now, the office of The Luna Firm in Rancho Mirage has removed its signage from its office.

Clients tell News Channel 3 they have been waiting for months for updates about their immigration cases. Some say they paid thousands of dollars and are now seeking refunds.

Others say the firm still has their original documents, including birth certificates and other important paperwork, and they want those documents returned.

News Channel 3 also obtained video showing a group of clients confronting people at the office. During the confrontation, one person is heard threatening to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

News Channel 3 has reached out to Luna for comment and has not yet received a response.
