Eisenhower Health unveils renamed Chandi Emergency Department

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (KESQ) - There's a new name on the face of an Eisenhower Health building. The Chandhi Emergency Department was unveiled on Friday in Rancho Mirage, named after local businessman and philanthropist Nachhattar Chandi.

Chandi attended the naming ceremony along with his family. Organizers highlighted Chandhi's commitment to supporting health groups across the valley, including his continued support of Eisenhower Health.

"I'm at a loss for words. I mean, I think every single person, even as a child, you see the names on buildings and you kind of like, oh, that's so cool, and to see your own name here, it's just, it is a testament of our family, and we just cannot be more happy and proud of both of our parents for doing that," said Angelie Chandi, Nachhattar's daughter.

The event took place on Friday, the same day that Palm Springs Pride began, which Chandi also supports and sponsors.

On Thursday, News Channel 3 anchor Peter Daut reported on recent concerns from some in the LGBTQ community about Chandi's support of President Trump. The businessman answered questions about that support and how he often supports candidates, he says, from both political parties.
