Marine dies during physical fitness training at Twentynine Palms Marine Base
A Marine stationed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms died during physical fitness training, Brigadier General Roger Turner announced.
According to Brigadier General Turner, the Marine collapsed while training and was rushed to the hospital. Life-saving measures were taken but the Marine was pronounced dead Wednesday morning.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
The Marine's identity has not been released, however, Brigadier General Turner confirmed that next of kin has been notified.
"On behalf of the command team, I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the Marine's family, friends, and unit," Brigadier General Turner wrote.
