Restaurants here in our valley are navigating a new normal for Mother’s Day.

Cuistot Restaurant’s Chef Bernard was hard at work preparing their traditional Mother’s Day brunch during the coronavirus crisis.

The restaurant made a special take-out menu to celebrate mothers.

“It comes with appetizers, soup, and desert and a choice of four entry packages, its a celebration in a bag," said Shimer.

Cuistot’s General Manager, Michael Shimer said this year’s brunch looks a lot different with only offering curbside pick-up.

“The four people in the kitchen doing alot of extra work, take out is not as easy as it sounds or looks," said Shimer. "We rather have people come in and sit down."

Beatrice Pace was looking forward to her Mother’s Day to-go brunch meal.

“Well we love Cuistot," said Pace. "Its one of the highlights of the desert and so we figured we would pick up something from here and have a fabulous feast at home."

At Fleming's Prime Steakhouse in Rancho Mirage, they planned to execute their Mother's Day brunch to be a special one.

“We just want to make sure that we're going to deliver the same experience for those mother’s even though we are in the circumstances we’re in," said Milsop.

Patrick Milsop of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse said it's important to stay connected to the community even if customers can’t come in.

“We’re giving every mom a rose that comes up for their take out," said Milsop.

Frank Smith picked up his family bundle meal curbside this Mother’s Day.

“Dana is the most important woman in my life,"said Smith."I will do anything to give her a perfect Mother’s Day."
