Multi-million dollar Indian Wells home destroyed in fire

Flames destroyed a 7,000 sq. ft. house near the Indian Wells Country Club clubhouse Saturday, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 1:41 p.m. in the 46000 block of Club Terrace Drive, Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department said.

“The first arriving engine company reported a single story, single family residence involved with heavy fire,” Cabral said.

It took 38 firefighters until about 5 p.m. to put out all of the flames, she said.

No injuries were reported but two adults were displaced, Cabral said.

The loss was estimated at $4.5 million.
