List of CVUSD teaching positions that will be laid off released

The Coachella Valley Unified School District has released the list of positions that will be terminated at the close of the school year.

The CVUSD Board voted to lay off over 150 CVUSD employees last week, a majority of those will be teachers. District officials say the cuts are a result of a $10.4 million deficit.

The full list of teaching positions that will be terminated is below:

63 Multiple Subject Credential Teachers (K-8) 10 English Teachers 5 Social Science Teachers 5 Mathematics Teachers 1 Mild-Moderate Special Education Teacher 1 PE Teacher 2 Spanish Teachers 6 Counselors 2 Science Teachers 1 Agriculture

Other positions that will be terminated include several bilingual psychologists and a slew of bus monitors.

Employees will start receiving their layoff notices by March 15.
