Indio courthouse reopens after minor fire caused by elevator malfunction
Cal Fire has responded to reports of a structure fire at Larson Justice Center in Indio. The building is located at 46200 Oasis St. No injuries have been reported.
The building was evacuated at 10:30 a.m. It took approximately one hour for Cal Fire to clear the building, which reopened at 11:30 a.m.
The fire was caused by a belt malfunction in an elevator shaft according to Cal Fire. The belt broke and sparked a small blaze. The incident has been officially “terminated.”
