Woman arrested for setting fire to clothes in front of Indio restaurant

At around 4:30 a.m. this morning, Cal Fire responded to reports of a fire in front of Sloan’s Restaurant at 81539 Highway 111 in Indio. Several small piles of clothes had been set on fire in front of the restaurant, but the minor blaze never spread to the building according to Sgt. Dan Marshall of the Indio Police Department

The suspect was later arrested several blocks away at 81000 Sierra Avenue. She was taken into custody without incident. The identity of the woman has not been released at this time.

No injuries were reported due to the fire.
