Memorial service for DHSHS student killed in collision to be held Friday

Memorial services for the Desert Hot Springs High School student who was killed in a collision will be held this Friday.

Pamela Carrillo, 17, of Desert Hot Springs was killed after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night near the intersection of Palm Drive and Camino Aventura. According to police, Carrillo was walking across the road Saturday night when she was hit by a car. The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Carillo was a senior at DHSHS, friends and family described her as a sweet, loving, and caring friend. A candlelight vigil was held to remember her on Sunday evening.

A viewing will be held at the Casillas Funeral Home on Perez Rd. in Cathedral City this Thursday from 5 pm to 11 pm. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday at San Luis Rey Catholic Church in Cathedral City. If you attend, you are asked to wear purple.
