Coachella man arrested for allegedly flashing UC Riverside student
A 21-year-old Coachella man suspected of flashing a UC Riverside student — and possibly others — has a June court date, authorities said.
Kevin Alexander Reyes was arrested Monday on suspicion of indecent exposure for an alleged encounter with a young woman on the north end of campus.
According to UCR police, the woman, whose name was withheld, was walking in the area of Aberdeen and North Campus drives about 4 p.m. when Reyes pulled alongside the curb, got her attention and allegedly exposed himself. She immediately called police, providing a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was stopped by officers on Canyon Crest Drive, near Linden Street, just outside the campus grounds.
Reyes was booked on the misdemeanor allegation but released from custody soon afterward, with a promise to appear for an initial hearing at the Riverside Hall of Justice on June 12.
According to police, the suspect may be connected to a rash of earlier indecent exposure incidents on or near the campus in the last several months. The investigation is ongoing.
Reyes has no prior documented misdemeanor or felony convictions in Riverside County.
