Man accused of murdering mother in Palm Springs set for extradition
A man accused of murdering his mother in Palm Springs and then driving her body to South Dakota is one step closer to extradition back to Riverside County. 31-year-old Tosten Walsh Lommen was served the governor’s warrant in South Dakota, which allows for his transport back to California, according to John Hall of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
“The defendant was served with the Governor’s Warrant today in South Dakota,” said Hall “Our county now has until April 23, 2018, to pick him up for transport back to Riverside County to face justice in this case. Further information such as when he will be returned will not be released.”
Lommen was detained following a 50-mile long high-speed chase on January 1st in South Dakota. He was arrested by a state trooper for eluding police and drunken driving.
During the following search of his vehicle, the trooper found the body of Lommen’s mother, 58-year-old Nanette Walsh.
