Rancho Mirage mail-in vote deadline Monday
The April 10 Rancho Mirage City mail-ballot election is still a ways away, but today is just as crucial as election day itself. Today is the deadline to register for the election, and if you miss out, you can’t vote.
The April 10 City election will have no established polling places, so if you plan to vote, be sure to get your application squared away. There are a few different ways to register for the upcoming election, including:
Completing an online application at RegisterToVote.ca.gov before midnight Monday Picking up a paper application at the Riverside County Registrar of Voters office, City of Rancho Mirage City Clerk’s office, Department of Motor Vehicles offices, or at a post office and sending it to the Registrar’s Office at 2724 Gateway Drive in Riverside (hand-delivery or postmarked by today).
The Registrar’s office is open Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accept forms. If you have any questions about registration, contact the Registrar’s office at (951)-486-7200.
The April 10 election will decide who will claim four-year terms for three open city council seats. A half-dozen candidates are vying for the three open spots.
The incumbents are longtime council members Dana Hobart and Iris Smotrich, as well as current Mayor Charles Townsend Vinci.
Newcomers include longtime Rancho Mirage resident and business owner Kate Spates, former Sony and JVC executive Robert Mueller, and attorney Michael Harrington.
