No Kill Coachella Valley rescues dogs from El Centro

The No Kill Coachella Valley Coalition conducted a life saving transport to El Centro’s Humane Society of Imperial County and Dee’s Rescue.

The group took crucial supplies to the shelters such as food, towels, even a washer and dryer. On the way back to the valley, the group brought with them dogs now up for adoption at Animal Samaritans in Thousand Palms.

“Here Snip is, spay and neutering over 60 animals at this clinic in El Centro over the course of two days. People were lining up for this clinic. On top of that, to see all these Coachella Valley rescue organizations and businesses come together to save these animals, it was the whole package. It was invigorating,” Melanie Scherer, founder of the Snip Bus and Luke’s Legacy Foundation, said.

“When the No Kill Coachella Valley Coalition needs help, we ask for it. When we can give help, we give it. It’s amazing to see the valley is in a place to help other areas now,” Bianca Rae, founder of the Bianca Rae Foundation, said.

The transport was made possible by the Snip Bus (Spay-Neuter Imperative Project), Luke’s Legacy Foundation, Animal Samaritans, the Bianca Rae Foundation, Desert Sandbag, and Torre Nissan.

The rescued dogs are available for adoption at Animal Samaritans.
