Man in custody in connection for deadly Sky Valley shooting
A person was in custody Monday in connection with a deadly shooting in the Sky Valley area near Palm Springs, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies from the Palm Desert Station were sent to the 74000 block of Dillon Road about 7:40 p.m. Sunday in response to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported.
“Deputies arrived on scene and detained a male subject,” Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Ben Ramirez said. “While checking the interior of a residence, a male subject was found with a gunshot wound. This subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Information was not immediately available on the age or identity of the victim or suspect.
“There are no outstanding suspects being sought at this time,” Ramirez said.
