Local bike shop in Thousand Palms burglarized again

A local bike shop in Thousand Palms was broken into just about a week after it was burglarized. This one of several incidents to have happened at Joel’s Bike Shop.

According to the Keri Johnson, the bike shop owner’s daughter in law, it’s believed burglars broke into the shop overnight Saturday morning. She said the burglars cut a hole into the wall where the air conditioning unit was.

A worker at the shop said various items were stolen including bikes and equipment, far more than what was stolen overnight on May 23rd to 24th.

Johnson said this burglary is the fourth incident to have happened since December, in which golf carts had been stolen and their gate had been broken into. She said Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies were notified and are investigating.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Sheriff’s Dept.
