22-year-old woman dies in rollover crash, vehicle lands in casino parking lot

A single-vehicle rollover crash in Coachella left one woman dead, another person seriously injured and landed the car they were riding in in a parking lot of a casino.

It happened about 6:15 a.m. Saturday off Highway 86, the Riverside County coroner’s office said. The vehicle landed in the parking lot of the Spotlight 29 Casio at 46200 Harrison Place, April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department said.

Alezia Carmona, 22, of El Centro, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second patient was taken to the hospital with major injuries. An update on their condition was not available.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is overseeing the investigation.
