Police and firefighters were working to clear a semi that flipped over on Highway 74 in the mountains just south of Palm Desert Tuesday morning.

The truck was hauling sand when it flipped over at 7:14 a.m. on the winding mountain road, just above the Vista Point scenic lookout.

The California Highway Patrol reported no injuries and the driver was able to get out of the vehicle.

One lane of traffic was open with up and down mountain traffic taking turns passing by the crash scene.
