Idyllwild businesses look to move ahead after Cranston Fire

Days after the town was evacuated, businesses are now reopening in Idyllwild after an evacuation order was lifted from most of the town over the weekend.

For many businesses and residents, this was their first morning in town ever since the Cranston Fire broke out Wednesday.

Residents were seen hugging and embracing each other and thanking firefighters and other first responders for their help. Many of the recounted their worries while they were staying in other areas during the worst of the fire.

“Amazed at how fast at how they got this fire out,” Bonnie Reynolds, hostess at the Red Kettle Restaurant, said. “The Mountain Fire….we were away for over a week and these firemen and first responders, they are amazing heroes.”
