Two arrested for alleged armed robbery of pool cleaner
Cathedral City police arrest two Sky Valley men accused of robbing a pool cleaner at gunpoint Tuesday morning.
A news release by the CCPD revealed a 49-year-old pool cleaner was the victim of an armed robbery in the 2800 Block of Avenida Diosa at around 7:41 a.m. The pool cleaner told police the two men, later identified as Joseph Palomino, 25, and Arturo Colin, 21, both of Sky Valley, stole his wallet and cell phone.
CCPD officers conducted an extensive search of the area but weren’t able to find the two men. The Post-release Accountability and Compliance Team assisted with the search and found the suspect’s vehicle in Desert Hot Springs parked in the Auto Zone parking lot on the east side of Palm Drive.
The news release added that officers detained Palomino as he exited the store and Colin was found inside the store. Colin allegedly attempted to hide a .22 caliber handgun inside of the store near where he was detained.
Palomino and Colin were both positively identified as having committed the robbery and placed under arrest.
Colin was on post-release community supervision and had a “No Bail” non-violent offender warrant. P.A.C.T. has arrested Colin previously in possession of another firearm.
