Stolen truck crashes into flagpole in front of Desert Aids Project

A truck crashed into a flagpole in front of the Desert Aids Project (D.A.P.) in Palm Springs around 8:00 a.m. The driver of the vehicle briefly fled the scene, but was eventually apprehended and is now in custody.

The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time.

According to a Desert Aids Project on the scene, the truck was “possibly stolen” from Desert Hot Springs.

Palm Springs police later confirmed the truck was a stolen vehicle out of Desert Hot Springs.

The D.A.P. building sustained minor damage, but no one was injured, according to a D.A.P. employee.

There is no information at this time about what caused the accident.
