Yucca Valley mother arrested for neglect of three children

A Yucca Valley mother has been arrested for child neglect over the living conditions of her three children.

Deputy R. Alfaro responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 6300 block of Indio Avenue in Yucca Valley. Sara Renee Haney and her three children, ages 2, 3, and 8, occupied the residence, according to a news release by the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.

Alfaro reported an “overwhelming amount of animal feces and animal urine embedded on to the carpet throughout the residence.” Alfaro also reported that a 2-year-old girl sustained a bacterial infection to her left wrist, which required all of the children to be quarantined at Hi-Desert Medical Center.

Alfaro also noted that there were several safety issues inside the residence that posed additional threats to the children living at the residence.

Children and Family Services responded to the residence and removed the children from the home.

Sarah Renee Haney was arrested for felony child abuse/neglect and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail on $100,000 bail.
