The scene was tense for neighbors but also for law enforcement officials, who were trying to determine if a suspect was holed up in the house.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Armando Munoz said the entire incident started with a 2:45 a.m. robbery call from a domestic dispute.

Sheriff’s deputies say upon arrival, deputies attempted to coax the inhabitants of the residence out, but no one immediately complied. After a wait for an undisclosed period of time, two people, one believed to be the suspect in the robbery, exited the home.

Following the exit of those two, the area police presence was increased, because it was unclear if there were more people in the home at that time.

“Due to the fact that we’re not sure if anyone is in there and they could possibly be armed,” officials called in SWAT team, “who deals with these types of situations,” Munoz said.

A flash-bang was heard going off shortly before noon.

No other suspects were found inside the home, Munoz confirmed.

A news release released by the Sheriff’s Department hours later revealed Jeremy Hulse, 41, of Desert Hot Springs was arrested and booked into the Riverside County jail for robbery and additional charges.

The Sheriff’s department also confirmed that an occupant of the residence suffered minor injuries during the incident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators are currently attempting to locate an additional male suspect that was involved. Anyone with information on this case can call Investigator Diaz at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station at (760) 836-1600.
