Thousands join together in 32nd annual Desert AIDS Walk

The Desert AIDS Walk brought in thousands of community members and more than $300,000 for the 32nd annual event Saturday morning.

The goal is to raise money for life saving health care for people in the valley living with HIV as well as educate the community and provide resources about HIV.

Groups walked the 2.5 mile route in Palm Springs and enjoyed live music, booths and food at the Health and Wellness festival after the walk.

Organizers say the epidemic is far from over and much progress is still needed in eliminating discrimination and the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS.
